Installing the latest version of OS X

Setting up a new Mac

We'll take it out of the box, connect your printer, connect the network, and install your new software. We'll register it with Apple and create your AppleID if you don't have one. If you have an older Mac we'll move your files to the new one. We'll set up accounts for each user and set up email. We'll check that everything's working properly.
Then we'll show you how to find and install apps from the Mac App Store and we'll coach you on some of the key features.
Before you buy your new Mac call us to schedule a setup appointment. We'll also suggest some other things to pick up at the store.

Wireless networks are very convenient because you can use your computing devices throughout your home or office.
If you're new to wireless networking you will need a wireless router. TekBasics recommends the Apple AirPort Extreme, Airport Express or Time Capsule. These devices can be managed easily with the AirPort Utility that comes with your Mac. For a side-by-side comparison click here.
